Remebering yours Ultrasound physics – A

For those who are writing the SPI- Ultrasound physics exam. I have notes for sale it is about 1500  multiple choices sets for ARDMS -spi exam = 50 USA DOLLARS. I study those notes and passed my exam 670/700 . If you want to buy i can copy the notes and send them to you in e mail or by mail   you can reach me atdrsteveramsey@gmail.com . I will also include some of the ideas about the 12 simulation questions.  The payment with  PayPal      to drsteveramsey@gmail.com ,  fetal gender , Saad Ismail

My friends asked me if there is any easy way to remember the SPI- Physics parameters in relationship to each other, in term of direct or inversely related or if they stay the same with no change .

If you want to remember  the increasing  measurement units   from high to low such as giga , mega, kilo, hecto, deca  remember ( George Michael Killed Hector Dead)  rdms may ask you for the reverse. and for the other units such as ( DECI, CENTI,MILLI,MICRO,NANO) remember  – Diana Count Millions Men Knightley.   and so on.  more example below.

I am working on one easy name formula to fit all but I need time to finish it . But this is how I can remember some of those parameters and i will teach you a simple method . The most important parameters in SPI ultrasound physics are 14. here are 11 of them in 3 sets of triangles.

The first 2 triangles ARE THE DEPTH relationship . The exam question will ask you what happen to the parameter if depth of the field is increased .the triangle show depth increase  the PRP pulse rept period will increase as you know more depth is more time. but beside it the PRF (pulse rept frequency ), and the D ( DUTY FACTOR ) Will decrease so prf and df related directly to each other increase together and decrease together, and inversely to PRP.WHILE all the other parameters will never change and stay the same ( s,p,i,s,p,w,f) those are the speed, pulse duration, intensity, spatial pulse, pulse duration, wave length, and frequency .and you can reverse this if the depth decreases as shown in triangle 2. So it is very simple and you need not much time to remember it just practice and keep the triangle handy to watch and your photographic memory ability will sets in and let you remember the triangle  when you answer the exam. you can make the UN change parameters in different order or a name , a name of your pet or a book or something.

you can remember it as prp pulse repetition period  increase you are going to washroom and sits for long period of time . emptying your bladder for longer period , then what will happen to the frequency of going to washroom ,it will reduce cause you sits allot and empty allot so less pr frequency and less duty to go washroom.

The second sets of triangles are the relationship of the parameters to changing frequency, given that depth is UN changed. Again the triangle show increases frequency one side and ,the period ( p) and wavelength ( w) are decreases  . unchanged parameters are the S- speed, P =PRF, P= Pulse duration, I = intensity  . Remember it this way. You are going to washroom frequently  increase frequency .The period of  time urinating will get less, and the wave of the urine will get less because you are going frequently and the bladder will be empty . It is LOL example , but it will stick into your memory.

3 ;  the 3rd sets of the parameters as shown in 2 triangle below . are the relationship of the parameter with  the out put  power . Again draw the triangle and put the unchanged , the base of the triangle divided to rt and left side. power is increasing , Intensity ( I ) INCREASE- so they are direct hand to hand together , increasing power , increasing the intensity ,all the other parameters are unchanged. and the opposite is correct when the power is decreased. Now remember again the washroom example ; you now having bladder problem  you have to increase the power of the your lower abdominal pressure to get rid of the urine in your bladder so increase power, you get tense increase the intensity to empty your bladder.

Same thing with all other physics parameters .

1- Increasing  Q value will decreases duty factor = remember the washroom formula LOL. if you have good quality Q washroom time your Duty is done , decreases you no longer need to go washroom again.

If the Q value increases , the pulse duration increases ; Imagine you are Queuing (Q) TO THE WASHROOM many people a head of you , your pulse will increase and ( pd) and when you finally get to the washroom  your duration will increase. LOL hope you don’t pee before you reach the exam.

2- If Density of medium decrease  ,the frame rate increases ; imagine  a work place laid off so many people become less dense and your boss now asking to increase the f rate and work harder.

3- if frequency decrease the duty factor will increase; again imagine you are going to washroom less, then your duty will increase when you sit to do it.

4- If wavelength decreases , the duty factor decrease. Again go back to the washroom ,lol.  your wave of the urine is less your duty is less now so get out of the washroom and remember it.

5- If pulse duration PD decrease, the pulse rept period stay the same , UN changed.  remember the duration of going washroom same of your repetition of going to washroom.

6- If PRP / PULSE REPT PERIOD Increases , the duty factor will decrease. Same as before when you repeat the visit to the washroom , your empty your bladder and relax , your duty to strain and stay longer is reduced .

7- If the spatial pulse length; spl decreases , the duty factor DF decrease.Again use my washroom method, lol. you having long length of urination.  the need to do any thing else is reduced no strain no power and no duty .

8-If pulse duration PD increases, the duty factor DF increases; imagine your heart pulsing during your waiting to washroom in a bar , your duty will increase to feel pain , need to go fast and when you go your will stay longer .

I hope these washroom analogy can help you to remember so go washroom now before you go to bed and talk to you soon with different method of remembering the formula. So I call this my washroom formula. LOL.

What ? what was that?………………..
