Everybody has a problem. Even my cat does.
Financial ,Employment , Bills, Personnel and family, Relationships, Spiritual , schooling and Graduation and the list goes on. Albert Einstein used to say that science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking, and refinements are generally what make problem solving systematic rather than haphazard.
problem – solving skills involve capacities to make careful observations, tp generate ideas, and to conduct experiments.
I use the acronym SCIENCE such as that each letter of the word represented a different phase and skill in the problem – solving process
S = Specify the problem , C = Collect information , I = Identify possible cause
E = Examine possible solution , N = Narrow solutions and experiment
C = Compare your progress, E = Extend ,revised, or replace your solution
Specifying the problem is a way of delimiting what one is tackling . It is a large part of finding a solution.
Collection of information on your problem why it happen, when, where,what is the main issues, and who is involved.
There are two kind of people in the world : those who like to count things and those who don’t. Quantification is a valuable method of organizing experience .
The power of numbers was recognized long before the Scientific Revolution, and since then , the relationship between science and mathematics has been extremely strong.
The act of simply observing and recording one’s experience is itself influential. Much like the Heisenberg principle in physics, the process of measurement influences the phenomenon being measured. You can identify the possible cause of y our problem and potential solutions. Generate number of solution and exit strategy to your problem , write them down and reassess them . Be creative in evaluating the effects of a personal problem on your life, economy , family and future .Experiment with strategy in your mind , like what if you do this and what will happen if I do that. There are two solutions to a specific problem 1- Behavioral methods . 2 – Cognitive methods.
One focused on changing the environment, and the second focused on changing the interpretations of them. the most important aspect of the Behavioral method are the flowing:
1- Activity is important . 2- Behavior takes place in an environment .
3 -Consequences matter. 4- small steps are important. 5 – Practice begets consistency
When you do good try to reward your self , and when you do bad try to but some punishment to restrain your self from bad habits and reward your self for good habits .Try to stop smoking , Think of why are you doing it, think of your health, the money you spend, losing friends and dates, etc. and then set a goal to reduce the amount of cigarettes and reward your self for it. Then think scientifically. Our total red blood cells change every 4 months , 120 days. The red blood cell has a nuclei it contain the cell record, hemoglobin and other important minerals, it also has oxygen. The nicotine usually goes inside the red blood cell nuclei . The common seance is to cut down 25% of your smoking for 4 months so you can can cut down the nicotine concentration by 25%.
and then other 4 months cut down another 25% and so on until your red blood cell are cleared .In this way you go gradually and make sure never to increase while you decide to cut down.These small steps can adds up and in time you feel you accomplish something .Something if you want to lose weight The most important messages in the cognitive therapy.
We live much of our lives in and from our heads.Thinking influences feeling and acting. self-track is an important domain for awareness and change.
You must pay attention to what you are feeling, especially when it seems to be changing .Focus on most recent thoughts .Evaluate the merits and direction of your thought and imagery , would you wish that kind of thinking on someone you love or a family member?
Problems motivate us to seek solutions. And a good Solutions to one problem might motivate us to find more suitable solutions to other problem.
My cat like to go out but in time she learned to change her behavior as I wanted her to eat first the diet food that she hate and when she do then i let her go out for a while.some times she goes to the door and meowing at the door and scratch the door to let her out, when she gives up then she goes to the dish and wait for her diet food.
