My answers to Dr.Hawking.
Part 2; The natural selection process and the selection of a designer. A controller, that can help the natural selection to be successful like our brain in our body. The universe need a designer a pre selected designer ,the brain of the universe the living light of creation.
Natural selection
It the gradual process by which heritable biological traits become either more or less common in a population as a function of the effect of inherited traits on the differential reproductive success of organisms interacting with their environment. It is a key mechanism of evolution. The term “natural selection” was popularized by Charles Darwin, who intended it to be compared with artificial selection, now more commonly referred to asselective breeding.
So let us say if Natural selection is the answer , why then Dr. Hawking still alive? The natural section wanted him out of the equation of life . Is it because that part of his body still survive and that is his brain , he was let alone by the selection process and with his well power to love and survive he was able to stay a life with the help of friends and technology.
Or is it because there must be a designer who selected him despite his weakness and illness , he kept his brain so that people can learn from his knowledge and wisdom . Dr Hawking didn’t get his knowledge without school and learning and without support and love .Nature is cruel but the designer is merciful .
Why then the designer left Dr Hawking with his illness and on a wheel chair. Because the designer made the law and do not interfere with it as Dr Hawking once said.
Is It possible that both the designer and natural selection is one. Why we find it hard to accept or think that the natural selection process select a designer, a controller to take charge and play a bigger role in evolution and creation and the process is one cycle design and select, select and design .
This is the theory of everything, the existing of everything, The natural selection process need a designer to take control like the brain in Dr.Hawking body. It is logic that the natural selection select a designer, Before you make the car you need the engine ,the controller and then let evolution kicks start the creation.
Dr. Stephen Hawking sees only one way for humanity to survive the next millennium: colonize space. And he’s probably right.
In a lecture Tuesday in Los Angles, the 71-year-old Stephen Hawking said humanity would likely not survive another 1,000 years “without escaping beyond our fragile planet,” Hawking’s latest comments were made at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after touring a stem cell laboratory that is studying how to combat Lou Gehrig’s disease. He’s lived with the debilitating neurological disorder, also called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, for 50 years and can only communicate via a computerattached to his wheelchair.
Dr Hawking is wrong about the end of human race in 1000 year. The natural selection and the designer will not allow such thing .
Nature always balance itself . Human life’s will be shorter. Heat and increasing temperature will make new human breed, with thick skin that can resist the ultraviolet ray. Our eyes will be adopted to dark as human will start working and playing at night to protect their body from heat . Water will be very expensive commodity. Human will be shorter and stronger. New animal and fish , new crops and genetically design food will fill the market.
Mechanical body part, better computers and technology to help in communication , cars will Hoover and works on heat ,and new energy source will be found. Other planets will be used to discover new source of energy, new semiconductors. It is all designed by the super natural selecting who selected the designer to take control and let the evolution kick start new breeds of life .So the designer and the natural selection are one cycle.
Let’s face it: The planet is heating up, Earth’s population is expanding at an exponential rate, and the natural resources vital to our survival are running out faster than we can replace them with sustainable alternatives. Even if the human race manages not to push itself to the brink of nuclear extinction, it is still a foregone conclusion that our aging sun will expand and swallow the Earth in roughly 7.6 billion years. So that’s not 1000 year and it is long time from now. Meteoroids can do the job to destroy earth in such large scale. But if you believe that the natural selection selected earth for the purpose of life and selected the designer to control it then earth will take care of itself and the life it contains.
So, according to Dr. Stephen Hawking, it’s time to free ourselves from Mother Earth. “I believe that the long-term future of the human race must be in space,” Hawking tells Big Think. “It will be difficult enough to avoid disaster on planet Earth in the next hundred years, let alone the next thousand, or million. The human race shouldn’t have all its eggs in one basket, or on one planet. Let’s hope we can avoid dropping the basket until we have spread the load.”
Hawking says he is an optimist, but his outlook for the future of man’s existence is fairly bleak. In the recent past, humankind’s survival has been nothing short of “a question of touch and go” he says, citing the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1963 as just one example of how man has narrowly escaped extinction. According to the Federation of American Scientists there are still about 22,600 stockpiled nuclear weapons scattered around the planet, 7,770 of which are still operational. In light of the inability of nuclear states to commit to a global nuclear non-proliferation treaty, the threat of a nuclear holocaust has not subsided.
In fact, “the frequency of such occasions is likely to increase in the future,” says Hawking, “We shall need great care and judgment to negotiate them all successfully.” He is right here as super power appointed there self to select population and control others and that’s will creates wars.
Even if humans manage to avoid a nuclear stand-off over the next thousand years, our fate on this planet is still pretty much certain. University of Sussex astrophysicist Dr. Robert Smith says eventually the aging Sun will accelerate global warming to a point where all of Earth’s water will simply evaporate.
“Life on Earth will have disappeared long before 7.6 billion years,” says Smith, “Scientists have shown that the Sun’s slow expansion will cause the temperature at the surface of the Earth to rise. Oceans will evaporate, and the atmosphere will become laden with water vapor, just as the holly book the Quran predicted 1400 years ago in details regarding what will happen to the sun and ocean , to earth and the heat ( surah 81 the takwir, surah 91 Sun, surah 86 al Tariq, and surah 99 and 101 ) in amazing details the book describe what will happen to the sun, moon, stars and earth, water will steam and vibrate , ocean will boil , great earthquakes etc.
in which (like carbon dioxide) is a very effective greenhouse gas. Eventually, the oceans will boil dry and the water vapor will escape into space. In a billion years from now the Earth will be a very hot, dry and uninhabitable ball.” But not just earth this will happen to all the universe so by escaping to other planet it will not help you.
Why We Should Reject This Idea
Despite what Hawking describes as humankind’s “selfish and aggressive instinct,” there may be some biological impediments to finding another planet to inhabit.
“The nearest star [to Earth] is Proxima Centauri which is 4.2 light years away,” says University of Michigan astrophysicist Katherine Freese, “That means that, if you were traveling at the speed of light the whole time, it would take 4.2 years to get there.” And if we go to Mars and nearby planet as human are trying it will be the same result when our sun is expand and explode.
So I think mankind should stay in earth ,heal this earth for the time been reduce gas emission, clean the ocean by not dumping billions tons of garbage every day, reduce oil drilling , encourage farming animal farm and crops farms. Reduce the depending on fossil fuel , stop nuclear arm raise and take of all nukes from all those who have it and use it for pure electric energy. And the list of hope can go on and on to heal our self and this dying planet.
Unfortunately, at the moment we can only travel at about ten thousandth of light speed, which means if man were to use chemical fuel rockets similar to the those used during the Apollo mission to the moon, the journey would take about 50,000 years. Without the use of a science-fiction-like warp drive or cryogenic freezing technology, no human would live long enough to survive the journey. In addition, “the radiation you would encounter alone would kill you, even if you could get a rocket to go anywhere near that fast,” says Freese.
On the upside, if man ever develops the technology to travel at the speed of light while remaining shielded from cosmic radiation, he could effectively travel into the future. “A five year trip at light speed could push an astronaut forward by 1000 earth years,” says Freese, “If he wanted to see if any humans were still around by then.”
Science show us that the universe cannot be ETERNAL because it could not have sustained itself eternally due to the law of entropy (increasing energy decay, even in an open system).
Einstein confirmed that space, matter, and time all had a beginning. Even time had a beginning! Time is not eternal.
So that’s mean if there is a beginning there must be a designer and that fit with the natural selection and natural design by a designer.
Popular evolutionary scientist Stephen Hawking admits that the universe came from nothing but he believes that nothing became something by a natural process yet to be discovered. And as we know there is nothing come from nothing it is not logic and it is not scientific so I disagree 100% with Dr. Hawking in this. And totally agree with Einstein .
As That’s not rational thinking at all, and it also would be making the effect greater than its cause to say that nothing created something.
The beginning had to be of a selector designer in origin because natural laws and processes do not have the ability to bring something into existence from nothing. But the natural selection that selected a controller to take over and organize like the brain is more logic for our universe to act as conductor, organizer, controller, gardener, and that’s a logical approach to the natural selection.
In quantum mechanics, if you allow the “foam” that permeates the universe to exist as an intrinsic part of this universe, even before its creation, then “something” can emerge from “nothing”.
But this is not good arguments as the foam itself and the gases are preselected by natural selection process to combine and make something they don’t come from a vacuum or nothing.
The particles of matter and anti-matter appear from nothing , also false as these particles already exist from the preselected gases and foam.
Those particles annihilate each-other briefly but they produce energy, radiation, heat and so small micro particles that we can’t even measure now.
So we cannot Take this concept as logic . As our universe-wide scale was preselected to exist by natural selection , all the particles and smaller micro gases are allowed to produce new of springs of gases ,or eliminate others to produce heat , radiation and energy and to act as a catalyst for other particles to be born.
you can explain quantum fluctuations creating a whole universe out of these preselected gases and particles, as they never come from nothing
It would seem some people have made a fetish of humanities failures, and believe that because we do not live in Utopia, we ought not progress, If an ambitious group of humans want to start a Lunar colony, and it affects you not at all, let them. At least it give humanity a chance.
our nearest solar system is alpha centaurs, where if we are very lucky, there may be a planet capable of sustaining life ( as we know it). Alpha centaurs is I believe, 4.2 light years away. Now.
I am entitled to my opinion, and I have deep respect for Prof Stephen Hawking.
These are questions that every person asks themselves at some point in their lives. But what sets these questions apart are that they are not just personal but theological in nature, and so lay bare our understanding of self, of the designer, and of life.
Dr.Hawking said “I’m not religious in the normal sense. I believe the universe is governed by the laws of science. The laws may have been decreed by God, but God does not intervene to break the laws.” (Quoted in “Stephen Hawking prepares for weightless flight”, New Scientist [April 26, 2007]).
So he admit that God made these laws and of course he left the laws and evolution take over from that point.
“The idea that space and time may form a closed surface without boundary also has profound implications for the role of God in the affairs of the universe. “¦ So long as the universe had a beginning, we could suppose it had a creator. But if the universe is really completely self-contained, having no boundary or edge, it would have neither beginning nor end: it would simply be. What place, then, for a creator?” (From A Brief History of Time[1988])
Einstein mentioned in his work that time must have beginning and the universe started from a point , I agree with him totally on this .
But Dr.Hawking said“[The concept of time has no meaning before the beginning of the universe. This was first pointed out by St. Augustine. When asked: What did God do before he created the universe? Augustine didn’t reply: He was preparing Hell for people who asked such questions.” (From A Brief History of Time [1988])
Again if we believe in the natural section , we must believe that the natural section can select designer and a controller to help the process.Like the Brain in our body. Like a central nervous system to the universe.
Dr.Hawking said“I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road.” (Tweeted from StephenHawking@StephenHawking on April 5, 2008).
I say again that the natural selection process have defense mechanism and it teach us to protect our self and to survive and thats a natural law of science .to protect to live to survive and to be careful not to bring harm to the host or to the biological unit.
Soul is regarded as an immaterial aspect within the body of the human person. Some consider the soul to be an integral part of life and functions and also the source of the highest mental activities. Soul is almost synonymous with self, spirit or mind. The basic conception of soul in the ancient civilizations was life. Life of the body is regarded as the soul. Breath, life and movement are associated with the soul. At death all bodily functions stop and the soul departs from the body. The location of the soul could be any part of the body or function. The ancient Hebrews and Greeks viewed that the soul also ceases on death of the body. Greek philosophers Plato and Plotoinus believed that soul pre-exists the body and at death it separates from the body to attain its full and perfect state. Hindus and Buddhists believe that the soul is reincarnated through recurrent life cycles until it is relieved through moral, intellectual or spiritual perfection. The Jews, Christians and Muslims believe that the souls are held to rejoin their bodies on the day of Judgment/ Resurrection .
The basic Western concepts of the soul were shaped by the traditional Western Philosophy, which started with the ancient Greeks. Plato emphasized that the soul achieves a pure state only after release from its prison house in the body. On the other hand Aristotle championed the inseparability of the soul from the living organism (body). Aristotle connected the soul to the vegetative and animal functions. But Rene Descartes, the 17th century French Philosopher emphasized the thinking aspect of the soul and identified it with mind or understanding. He referred the soul to the vital forces in the animal bodies and called them mind or spirit. Many including Plato, Descartes, and George Berkeley hold the view that the soul is immortal, Bhagavad-Gita says that the soul is immortal and it changes bodies like human beings change their clothes. The 18th century German Philosopher Immanuel Kant said that no human has the knowledge of the soul, but he argued that for practical purposes to establish morals and ethics the existence and immortality of the soul must be postulated. U.S. empirical psychologist and philosopher, William James, maintained that the soul is an unnecessary concept, which could not be verified. The concept of soul is not required for personal identification or for purposes of moral responsibility. Modern scientists and philosophers generally follow James’ views. They further say that one can understand man without any recourse to the notion of soul. Distinguished thinkers such as the French philosopher Gabriel Marcel pointed out that soul is a nonmaterial and immortal principle or aspect of the human person.
The spiritual groups believe man has three elements: spirit, soul arid body. The body encases the soul, and the soul encases the spirit. At death the body dies, but the soul and the spirit live on. Animals are believed to have souls but not spirits. Spiritualists believe that the human spirit exists eternally as a part of the Universal Spirit. The spiritualists hold that the soul enters the body at conception; some hold that this entry happens a few months after conception.
ISLAMIC VIEWS:
The Islamic views presented here are solely based on the following Qur’anic revelations and commentaries given by Allama Yusuf Ali. Mankind created from single soul:
“0 mankind reverence your Lord, who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate and from them twain hath scattered countless men and women.” ………… 4:1
“0 ye who believe Guard your own souls, if ye follow (right) guidance, no hurt can come to you from those who stray. The goal of you all is to God: it is He that will show you the truth of all that ye do.” —5: 105
TO BENEFIT ONE’S SOUL:
“Whoever works righteousness benefits his own soul, whoever works evil, it is against his own soul.” –41:46
DEED AND REWARD:
“Every soul earneth only on its own account, no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another. Your goal in the end is towards God: He will tell you the truth of things wherein ye disputed (differed).” 6:164
“On no soul does God place a burden greater than it can bear (in terms of material wealth or spiritual duty).” —2:286; 23:62
“But those who believe and work righteousness, – no burden do We place on any soul, but that which it can bear.” 7:42
“On the day when every soul will be confronted with all the good it has done, and all the evil it has done, it will wish there were a great distance between it and its evil.” -3:30
“Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds.” 74:38
[Man cannot shift his responsibility to vicarious saviors or saints. His redemption depends upon the grace of God, for which he should constantly and whole-heatedly strive by means of right conduct. If he does so he will be redeemed. ]
“One day every soul will come up struggling for itself, and every soul will be recompensed (fully) for all its actions, and none will be unjustly dealt with.” 16:111
[When the reckoning comes, each soul will stand on its own personal responsibility. No one else can help it. Full justice will be done, and all the seeming inequalities of this world will be redressed].
THREE STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE HUMAN SOUL:
“And I do call to witness the self-reproaching Spirit.” –75:2.
Our scholars postulate three states or stages of the development of the human soul:
- AMMARA: Which is prone to evil and, if not checked and controlled will lead to perdition (total destruction, ruin),
- LAWWAMA: Which feels conscious of evil, and resists it, asks for God’s grace and pardon after repentance and tries to amend; it hopes to reach salvation;
- MUTMAINNA: the highest stage of all, when it achieves full rest and satisfaction. The second stage may be compared to conscience, except that in English usage conscience is a faculty and not a stage in spiritual development.
SLEEP AND DEATH:
“It is God that takes the souls at death, and those that die not during their sleep. He keeps that (soul) for which He hath ordained death and dismisseth the rest till an appointed term. Verily in this are signs for those who reflect.” –39:42
We can see more clearly many spiritual truths: e.g.
- that our bodily life and death are not the whole story of our existence;
- that in our bodily life we may be dead to the spiritual world, and in our bodily death, may be our awakening to the spiritual world,
- that our nightly sleep, besides performing the function of rest to our physical life, gives us a foretaste of what we call death, which does not end our personality; and
- that the resurrection is not more wonderful than our daily rising from sleep, “twin – brother to death”.
TASTE OF DEATH:
“Every soul shall have a taste of death.” 21:35; 29:57
The soul does not die but when it separates from the body at the death of the body, the soul gets a taste of death. In our life of probation on this earth, God tests our virtue and faith, by many things; some are tested by calamities, and some by the good things of this life. If we prove our true mettle, we pass our probation with success. In any case all must return to God, and then will our life be appraised at its true value.
SOUL ENTERS HEAVEN, NOT BODY:
(To the righteous soul will be said) “0 (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction! Come back thou to thy Lord – well pleased (thyself) and well pleasing unto Him Enter thou, then among My devotees! Yea enter thou My Heaven ‘. ” 89:27-30
Commenting on these verses Allama Yusuf Ali says: “The righteous enter into their inheritance and receive their welcome with a title that suggests freedom from all pain, sorrow, doubt, struggle, disappointment, passion, and even further desire: at rest, in peace; in a state of complete satisfaction. In Muslim theology, this stage of the soul is the final stage of bliss.”
SCIENTIFIC VIEWS:
The physical world consists of material objects that occupy space and have properties like mass, electric charge, extension, etc., whereas the mental world is populated not by material objects but by thoughts. The Old Testament presents the soul as synonymous with breath or life. On the other hand the New Testament identifies soul with the self and mind. The Catholic Encyclopedia defines soul as the “source of thought activity.” Paul Davis says “the mind (or soul) is not located inside the brain, or any other part of the body; or indeed anywhere in space at all. Mind is not a physical substance, but a tenuous, elusive, ethereal sort of substance, the stuff that thoughts and dreams are made of, free and independent of ordinary ponderous matter.” The above concept of soul appears to be necessary because soul is neither visible nor its physical presence be detected in any direct way. If soul is not space, then it exists in time. Here the issue 1s more subtle. If soul is the source of the human perception then this must include the human perception of time. If a concept is abstract rather than substantial does not make it unreal or illusory. For example one’s nationality.
One’s nationality does not occupy a space inside one’s body. It cannot be measured or subjected to physical laws. Another example is the number pi (pie), which is immutable and cannot be located in space and time. In computer analogy if body is the hardware then soul or mind could be compared to software. Therefore in principle it is possible for the mind to survive after death of the brain by transferring it to some other mechanism or system. A deeper and better insight is obtained by studying quantum physics and mysticism regarding the nature of soul.
