This happened in Brunei when i was a trainee. We were encamped on a relatively cleared-out ridge line in the jungles of Brunei, I was out filling my bottles at the nearby stream so by the time I came back, all the prime lots were taken up by my team mates’ hammock. Left with no choice, I had to settle for one which with a steep drop off of about 2m to my left.
I still remember that night to be a wet rainy night so I had a ground sheet perched above my hammock. Somewhere in the late evening when I was about to fall asleep, I heard twigs snapping to my left, as if a large animal was moving through the bushes.Ii lifted the ground sheet and took a cursory look the direction of the sound and spotted nothing.
The sound came again a couple of minutes later, really felt uneasy this time round, part of me wanted to shut off and just sleep but the other part wanted to make sure its not some villagers attempting to steal my rifle. Against better judgment, I took my L torch and shined at the direction. WA BIANGS!! I don’t know what was there but the thing managed to flatten most of the small trees and bushes right below the drop off!!
I wanted to change place but BO PIAN, no more trees around to tie the hammock to, so I took a few twigs nearby and made a small fire near my hammock, hoping I can deter whatever was watching me….

This happened few years back when i was residing at Ang Mo Kio. It was a sudden windy night till i can hear our neighbours bamboo sticks flung out from its holding hole. I find something is not quite right but i tried to ignore my doubt feeling. Suddenly my migraine strike and i asked for my hubby to help to massage my head. Eventually, we sat on a sofa which was near our house door which was wide open even though it was already around 1am.
So my hubby sat on top of the sofa and i sat on the floor to make him feel easier to massage my head. While he was attending to me, out of sudden something make me move my head to turn to the left to have a look at the corridor. I saw a young lady wearing Malay baju kurung in faded grey standing still facing out the carpark 5 doors away. And i told my hubby “pity the girl, must be forgotten to bring her house key and waited for the family to be back home”. My hubby look out and told me “where? I don’t see anything?” and i told him “she was there, from here i can still see her.” My stood up walk to the gate and still he claimed there was none. And end up we had a small argument which i raise my voice on him and point my hand towards the direction. And my sis-in-law rush out from her room to checked on us and she went to have a look at it and it is confirmed there was none. They quickly shut the door.

I got a creepy story to share. It happened to my ex boyfriend while he was in Brunei jungle for army training.
My ex can see “things” I’ve been freaked out by him so many times when he tell me something in front. Anyway the incident is like this. They had out field training in the Brunei Jungle. And they are not allowed to sleep on the pavement or rather “pathway” but only on the grass around. During the night, while everyone was asleep. They slept in 3-4 people in a group, with their guns and all. Apparently, some didn’t listen, slept on the pathway. In the middle of the night, he got restless, drowsily opened an eye. He vaguely saw 2 shadows walking towards them, on the pathway. He got a little scared because he can see, so he knows what they were.
He quickly closed his eyes back, pretend to sleep. Then he slowly opened one again after a few mins, the 2 shadows got very much closer. He could make out what they were. One fat and stout thing and tall lanky thing, floating closer to them. He quickly close his eyes again. This time, the fat & stout one starting grunting and sniffing them like a dog. It then wanted to carry off one of the guys. My ex then moved his legs on top of the guy.
Those things knew immediately that he wasn’t sleeping. Started sniffing, grunting him. He started praying.
Then he heard..”TIPU!!” (that’s bluff! in Malay) In a very low and echo voice right next to his ear. I swore a almost peed in my pants while hearing this. He then ignored it and forced himself to sleep. Morning, he asked if anyone felt anything unusual..no one did. Except for one, he felt his body aching and he doesn’t know why..
